Case Summary
In 2022, Wang met Xiao Li, who claimed to be a successful businessman with many projects and needed to use Wang's credit card to circulate funds. Hoping to increase his credit limit in the process, Wang handed over 4 credit card(s) to Xiao Li, who paid him 2000 yuan as a thank-you fee. In reality, the funds circulated using Wang's credit card were proceeds of fraud totaling nearly 200 million yuan. Wang's credit card was quickly frozen due to suspicious activity. Police in Region A opened an investigation against Wang on suspicion of assisting in information network crimes. However, Wang only confessed to lending one credit card, leading the prosecutor in Region A to decide not to prosecute. During a separate investigation in Region B, authorities discovered additional unconfessed criminal acts by Wang and prepared to open a case on similar charges. At that time, Wang was in Hong Kong. Fearing non-cooperation with the investigation, Region B police listed Wang as a fugitive online. Wang was later apprehended upon entering the country.
